I'd like to start by extending a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making our Open Largefowl Show a success. This event could not have happened without the incredible support of our sponsors, exhibitors, clerks, and judges. We had a fantastic turnout this year with over 2,523 birds representing 44 states and seven countries, displaying an impressive variety of poultry. It has been a true joy to watch this virtual poultry show evolve into something extraordinary over the past few years. The Open Largefowl Show itself saw 537 birds from 58 exhibitors, and it was wonderful to witness such enthusiastic participation.
For those of you who are new to our virtual poultry show, it's an exciting event that brings together poultry enthusiasts from across the globe to celebrate their birds. Exhibitors submit photos of their prized chickens, waterfowl, and quail from the past year. Our licensed APA, ABA, and ACBA judges then evaluate these entries, providing placements and feedback based on established standards. The youth categories, in particular, offer young participants a fantastic opportunity to experience the show ring virtually. We also invite qualified youth to judge each category, allowing them to hone their skills with the hope they will continue on to APA clerking and judging in the future. Exhibitors who enter birds in the youth shows are also encouraged to submit the same photos in the open shows for more chances to place and win additional awards, so you might recognize some names across different categories.
