First of all, I want to give a big thank you to everyone who participated in the Youth Bantam Show. All of our sponsors, exhibitors, clerks, and judges made this possible. We had over 2,523 birds from across 44 states and seven countries, showcasing the incredible diversity of bantam chickens. The virtual poultry show has truly turned into something amazing, and it has been a joy to watch it grow over the last few years. This year for the youth bantam show, there were 413 birds from 90 different exhibitors, and it was fantastic to see.
For those who are new to our virtual poultry show, it's an exciting event that brings together poultry enthusiasts from around the globe to share and celebrate their birds. By submitting photos, exhibitors present their best chickens, waterfowl, and quail from the past year, and our licensed APA, ABA, and ACBA judges place and give feedback on them based on established standards. For the youth shows, it is a chance for the up-and-coming generation to get their feet wet in the showring. We select one qualified youth for each category to also judge, giving them the opportunity to practice their skills and hopefully continue with APA clerking and judging. Everyone who entered birds in the youth shows could also enter the same pictures in the open shows for more qualified placings and additional awards, so you may see some repeated names.
